A Report an Anencephalous Fetus of 40 Weeks Old

Abstract
|
|
|
The gross observation has been done on one case of Korean male anencephalous fetus, aged 40 weeks(10 lunar months).
1. The aplastic site of the tissue was found not only the brain but also the calvaria, the hypophysis cerebri and the adrenals.
2. The variable degrees of the retardation in their growth of the trunk, the extremities and the visceras except the right lung has been noted in comparison with those of the normal.
3. The theory which was proposed. by Vogel that the initiation of the aplasia on the internal carotid artery is followed by the aplasis of the brain tissue, has not been fully confirmed in the present analysis by the fact that anencephalous status is persisted with the complete set of the internal carotid artery.
